Sooo. It’s been a little over two years since I have posted anything to this blog. For a social person I sure seem to do a horrible job with the medias. I would like to think this post is the beginning of some new era where I am always on top of things but, we all know that’s just a lie.
Moving on to the real reason for this little blurb. You may or may not have already noticed that VapeCalc.com has undergone some sweeping changes. The version of my little vape calculators that was still online had been done over three years ago and was showing it’s age. When I took a look at the web stats and realized just how many people were stilling using the site I decided it was time for a change. Continue reading
I know what you are thinking, he is a man, I am a man, this could get awkward. You just might be right about that because I am going to ramble on in a rather affectionate way and I can’t promise I won’t cross any lines. Am I a GrimmGreen fan? Guilty! Do I love this guy? I think I just might!
My little love affair with GrimmGreen goes back a few years now. First, the back story.
I had tried vaping via a horribly overpriced starter kit from a mall kiosk around 4 years ago now. This experience was just terrible, I tried a bunch of things at the time and it just sucked. All of the juice I managed to find tasted like dirt and the devices were simply a joke. This didn’t last long at all, I hung it up and continued smoking.
Flash forward almost two years, still smoking like an overweight chimney I was starting to get desperate to quit. I looked over the options available and I didn’t see anything which I thought would really work for me, this brought me back around to vaping. Things seemed to have changed, there was a lot of juice out there and the devices really seemed to have been improving while I wasn’t paying attention. I blindly ordered an Ego kit along with some juice and started giving it another go. This experience was very close to my first and that’s to say not so great. I was perplexed, how could this be? This is when GrimmGreen came in to my life. Continue reading
It was recently brought to my attention by a VapeCalc.com user that we had a slight input issue to correct. On Apple mobile devices the number pad that was being displayed when attempting to input your variables did not include a decimal point! This of course makes doing some calculations which include anything aside from a nice whole number a bit difficult. This is complete failure on my part. Please accept my apologies.
The old Apple keypad.
The new and improved Apple keypad.
This turned out to be a very quick and easy fix which I have verified works just dandy on my iPad. I do not have an iPhone kicking around to try things out on so I encourage anyone to please contact me if this doesn’t work correctly for you. Android devices should not be seeing anything different with this change and Blackberry users really should consider buying a new device.
I just finished making a few very minor cosmetic changes to VapeCalc.com. These changes do not alter the function of the calculators at all. Lately I have been enjoying the more linear “Metro” style over the smooth radius look of yesteryear as this blog theme clearly does not reflect. The new look is very simple with nice clean right angles.
Since the dawn of VapeCalc.com I have had a little personal message riding at the top of the screen which just seems outdated now. When I use the calculator I prefer to not have to scroll much to do my work so the new page has the important bits front and center. I have however placed a small attribute to the bottom of the page with a link over to this blog, credit where credit is due and all. I am of course self serving if nothing more.
You might be asking yourself “Why the hell is he talking about Three Dog Night?” and that wouldn’t be a bad question to ask. Welcome to my brand of not so clever humor which amuses only myself, and welcome to my little blog. My home on the internet if you will, the castle in which I am finally king.
I have been saying for some time how I was going to install WordPress and start blathering on for someone to read and that day has finally arrived. Let this first post serve as a marker of the day which the web became complete. This blog will be the launchpad for a few projects which are currently underway and hopefully a few new things down the road. With a little luck you might find a bit of entertainment and perhaps even something useful here.
